Pixel mode guide

A heavily pixelated Pokémon clears up over time while everyone guesses at once; the first to name it wins the round. Rules, scoring and tips for PokeVS's Pixel mode.

How it works

Each round shows a Pokémon's official artwork broken into big blocks. Everyone in the room guesses at the same time, as many times as they like, and the image gets one step clearer every 6 seconds on its own. There are five steps, and the round lasts up to 32 seconds.

A wrong guess is only shown to you, so nobody else gets a hint from it. The first player to name the Pokémon wins the round right away, and then the Pokémon is revealed to everyone.

Scoring

Only the first correct answer scores. It's worth 80 points minus 2.4 for every second that has passed, with a minimum of 16, so naming it on the blurriest image pays the most. There is a short wait of about a second between guesses, so spamming names doesn't work.
