Two types appear: be the first to name a Pokémon that has exactly that combination. Rules, scoring and tips for PokeVS Type mode.
How it works
Each round shows two types, such as Water and Flying. The first player to name a Pokémon with exactly those two types, in any order, wins the round. Pelipper, Gyarados or Mantine would all work for Water and Flying; Pikachu would not.
A match has 10 rounds of up to 20 seconds each. Wrong guesses cost nothing, and the game shows you the real types of the Pokémon you named, so every miss teaches you something.
Rules worth knowing
Regional forms count as their own Pokémon (Alolan Marowak is Fire and Ghost), but Mega Evolutions and Gigantamax forms are not accepted.
Once a Pokémon has been used as a correct answer, it cannot win another round in the same room.
Type combinations do not repeat within the same room either.
Scoring
Only the first correct answer scores. It is worth 80 points minus 3 for every second that passed, with a minimum of 16, so speed matters as much as knowledge.
Tips
Learn the rare pairs. Some combinations belong to a single Pokémon: Bug and Ghost is only Shedinja, Fire and Water is only Volcanion, Electric and Ice is only Arctozolt. Few players remember them.
Type the first answer that comes to mind. With a 3-points-per-second drop, a fast common answer beats a slow clever one.
Use the type chart guide to learn which types often appear together, such as Bug and Flying or Water and Ground.
