Survival mode guide

Name a Pokémon that fits the prompt before your time runs out. Rules, prompts, turn timer, scoring and strategy for PokeVS Survival.

How it works

Survival is a last-player-standing game. A prompt appears, for example a type (Pokémon of the Water type), a starting letter (Pokémon that start with S), Legendary Pokémon or Mythical Pokémon, and players take turns naming one Pokémon that fits it.

Every name can only be used once per round. Naming a Pokémon that does not fit, repeating one that was already said, or running out of time eliminates you. The last player still alive wins the round.

Timer

Each turn starts with 13 seconds. Once the list of names already said gets long, the timer gradually shrinks (down to five seconds), so the round speeds up exactly when the easy answers have run out.

Scoring

Points depend on the order of elimination: the first player out gets 40 points, the winner gets 400, and everyone in between is spread evenly. Playing alone, your score depends on how many Pokémon you named before your first miss, reaching the maximum at eight.
